Born in Durban, South Africa on 1 September 1986, Abu Muawiyah began his study of Islam at the age of thirteen. in 2006, he completed a seven year Islamic scholarship at a local Darul Uloom. In his quest for the truth and authentic Islamic knowledge, Abu Muawiyah continued studying Islam and sat with scholars from a variety of Madhabs and sects. His most notable teacher is Dr Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips. Abu Muawiyah served as an Arabic and Islamic Studies Educator at Ihsaan Boys College is Durban, South Africa in 2008, and as an English and Social Studies Educator at the Al-Fajr International School in Chennai, India for part of 2009. Abu Muawiyah currently resides in Durban, South Africa with his wife and four kids and serves as aan Arabic tutor for Deenclass Durban, an associate author for Muslim Matters and as a Tutorial Assistant for Fiqh, Arabic and Tafseer in the Islamic Online University (www.islamiconlineuniversity.com) Join our Facebook Page: www.facebook.com
